In Him We Live
You know it is easy for us to imagine that if our lungs stopped functioning, so would we, or if our heart were to stop, so would we.
They are vital to our physical lives.
When it comes to the spiritual life that is eternal, Jesus is like the lungs or a heart to us, because without Him, we cannot live.
Acts 17:27 so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; 28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, “For we are also His offspring.’ 29 Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising. 30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, 31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”
Our living, moving, and very being relies on Christ.
John 1:4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
All the answers you will ever need are found in Him! Our Lord Jesus is the sum of all things that are good! It is He in whom the Father is well pleased, and that affirmation belongs to me when I am in Him!
Colossians 1:21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.
Jesus presents me holy, blameless, and above reproach in the Father's sight! I need only walk in faith, being grounded in believing in what He did for me, and never feel the need to apologize for His obedience on my behalf. Remaining in faith and not allowing myself to be moved away from the hope of the gospel, which declared His obedience to redeem me and make me righteous with the very righteousness of God. I live, move, and have my being in Him!
